KSH INFRA facility built for GEDIA

GEDIA

Background Pattern

Customised Automotive Manufacturing Facility — Delivered in Four Months

Gedia, an automotive component manufacturer supplying Mercedes-Benz, selected KSH Chakan Park 2 for its manufacturing operations. Occupying the majority of Building A3, the facility spans approximately 239,000 sq. ft., including about 7,500 sq. ft. of office space.

The ready-to-occupy building required modifications to support robotic welding, material handling and associated manufacturing utilities. KSH INFRA undertook the tenant improvement works within a four-month timeline.

CHALLENGES

Adapting an existing industrial building to Gedia’s manufacturing requirements within four months required coordination across consultants, contractors and vendors. Key requirements included:

  • An internal structure for robotic welding machinery and provisions for jib cranes to move components between stations.
  • Epoxy flooring for a dust-free manufacturing environment and approximately 750 kVA power.
  • Supporting spaces including a fitted-out office, scrap room, compressor room, cooling tower, canteen, QA and QC laboratories and manufacturing support rooms.

SOLUTION

Manufacturing Infrastructure

KSH INFRA built the required internal and external utilities and supported the additional internal structure for the manufacturing operation. Gedia installed its robotic machines, welding equipment and cranes.

Power and Flooring

Infrastructure was provided for approximately 750 kVA of power and a floor-loading capacity of 6 tonnes per square metre, alongside industrial epoxy flooring.

Supporting Facilities and Delivery

KSH INFRA coordinated the office fit-out, compressor room, cooling tower, scrap room, canteen, QA and QC labs and other supporting rooms, working proactively with Gedia and project partners to meet the four-month schedule.

Outcome

Within four months, KSH INFRA handed over the customised facility to Gedia for installation of its manufacturing machinery, supporting a timely production setup.
